This is a great little
starter ukulele for someone looking for an authentic
vintage mahogany ukulele. The Kingston brand, like
most of the ukuleles made in the 20's - 70's, was
made by the Harmony Company in Chicago, IL. This uke
has the distinctive Harmony head stock from the era
as well as the single piece plastic fretboard.
Condition: Admittedly,
this uke could use a good cleaning. The sound hole ring is
missing but that is simply cosmetic.
The top is loose from the side along the lower
right. This is something you could probably do
yourself, or it's an easy repair done by your local
music shop. Really, all you need to do is add some
strings, tune it up, and you're ready to go. One of
my favorites from my collection, it would have been
the next one to get restored. My price is reflective of these issues.
