This is likely the oldest ukulele in my collection. From www.ukulele.org: The "Standard Approved" designation shows up on many Harmony-made ukuleles. This standard was created in 1927, and many Harmony ukuleles made for the next ten or so years had a special "Standard Approved" label inside the body."
This ukulele has all the features of a 1920's Harmony ukulele including the proper headstock, bridge and tuning pegs. This one also has what I believe are original decal embelishments.
Condition: This is definitely a project. The original finish is flaking in places revealing a lovely mahogany grain underneath. The scratches on the back seem to be superficial and can be rubbed out. The nut is missing. The sound hole ring is present, but loose. There appears to be an old repair where the back had separated from the side where the neck attaches - it is solid but there is still a small gap. The top has a little wave and I believe there is a small 1" through crack near the heel. This is confirmed by tapping on the top and there is a slight rattle on that side. My price is reflective of these issues.
