This is definitely the oddball of my collection. I always thought I wanted a baritone because the larger size would be easier to play. The problem is the tuning and chords are typically different from the other sizes of ukuleles so none of my limited knowledge of playing ukes carried over, oops...
The Norma brand was made by the Tombo Company located in Tokyo during the late 60's. The company apparently is still in business though they now only make harmonicas. Also included is the original soft case which is in suprisingly good condition for its age.
Condition: This ukulele is in pretty good condition for a 50 year old Japanese instrument. It is made of mahogany and the few flakes, scratches, and scuffs are purely superficial. It tunes nicely and is easy to play once you learn the new chording. Again. it's one of those ukuleles you need to complete your collection - who else has a vintage baritone uke in their collection?
